Sweet and Sour Chicken with Ice Bowl for Chinese New Year

Sweet and Sour Chicken with Ice Bowl for Chinese New Year | Yes, you read it right. Sounds weird, isn't it? At first, I did not imagine anything when I quickly read the names of the dishes in the Lunar New Year Menu of Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort, Desaru Coast. Nothing about ice cross my mind. Maybe I was too exhausted (plus having a very bad headache) after a long ride from Johor Bahru to Desaru. But when the dish arrived on our table, all of us were very surprised to see it.

The sweet and sour chickens were placed in an ice bowl, with mango and tomato chunks surrounded outside of the bowl. It looks so delectable and elegant in its own way. Chef Huat is surely so creative and imaginative to alternate our thoughts that not every main course must be eaten warm. The moment the chicken entering my mouth, it gave a chill feeling without drowning the sweet and sour taste of the cuisine. What a surprise! You should try it too!
