Street Food Barbecue Buffet Dinner at Oasis, Thistle Johor Bahru

Street Food Barbecue Buffet Dinner at Oasis, Thistle Johor Bahru | Ever wondered what happens when you cross a street food fiesta with a barbecue party? Well, Thistle Johor Bahru has the answer for you! Come to Oasis and stuff yourself on an endless supply of seafood on ice, a bevy of grilled goodies, BBQ Brazilian lamb leg, special sambal petai prawn, satay, smoked salmon and so much more!

Oasis is an Italian Restaurant and Bar which plays host to a unique poolside experience. Feast to your heart content against the backdrop of the beautiful landscape surrounding their majestic hotel facade. You may also book for a special event or candlelight dinner during the ongoing promotion, which will be held on every Saturday from January until March 2020.

What will be served in the buffet specials? As mentioned in the first paragraph, at Seafood on Ice counter, you can choose from Oyster, Tiger Prawns, Local Mussel, and New Zealand Mussels. Dip them in Salsa or Cocktail Sauce, which suits your taste.

At Live Stalls, you can have Laksa Johor with Condiments or Fried Mee Hailam Style. I really love their Laksa Johor, it reminds me of two friends, one who loves Laksa Johor so much and another who cooks the best Laksa Johor in my life. Haha!

Also from Live Stalls, you can request Fish in Asam Pedas and their signature Kambing Tempayan, too. Trust me, their Kambing Tempayan is so delicious and certainly out of ordinary. Who put buah kabung in a dish? Thistle does!

And do not forget the "barbecue" part in their theme, have a look at Chef's Special BBQ Carving where you can try Grilled Cajun Beef or BBQ Brazilian Lamb Leg. The sauces are categorized to cold sauce (Assam Sauce, Mint Sauce, Soya Chili Sauce, Mustard, and Tomato Ketchup) and hot sauce (Rosemary Sauce, Percik Sauce, and Black Pepper Sauce).

From the BBQ Griller, there is seafood paradise for seafood lovers. Garlic Prawn Skewer, Seabass Fish in Foiled, Flower Crab, Mussel and Cockles in Foiled, Squid and Banana Leaf Mackerel are not to be missed. As the theme is "street food", the marination is much simpler but still tastes good.

And there are the must-tried Chicken Satay and Beef Satay, too. Surprisingly both chicken and beef tasted so good that I repeat for another round. Yessss, I took one each for the first round just to have a taste, but I took two each for the second round 😆

If you love pasta, go to Pasta Station to choose from 3 types of pasta served with Napolitano Sauce and Cream Sauce, Slice Chicken, Prawn Meat, Mixed Capsicum, Slice Onion, Tomato Cube, Slice Chicken Ham, Black Mussel, and Slice Beef Bacon.

If you are lucky, you may get to taste their Silk Ravioli and Shick Tawook Salata From the Oven. I tried it before, and love the ravioli so much! Do not let your appetite stop before having their dessert too. There are so many types of dessert for you to choose from.

The buffet dinner starts from 6.30 pm until 10.30 pm with a live music performance by the 3-piece band "Live Wire" from 7.30 pm - 8.15 pm. After that, you can enjoy Bhangra Fusion Dance performance from 8.15 pm - 8.45 pm.
